Summer Signings Strengthen Squad Trish Sawyer   Tue 31st Aug
Harri Bedford Ladies 1st XI are delighted to announce the signing of Angharad Kinnear from Chelmsford Hockey Club. “Harri” is a versatile player with bags of national league experience and has been involved in the welsh international squad set up for the past year. Commenting on her decision to join Bedford, Harri spoke of her excitement for the imminent start to the season “I’m really looking forward to coming back to play for Bedford, as the last time I was in maroon and white was in my university days. The team is a real mix of talent, youth and experienced players. I hope, as does everyone in the squad that we push for promotion into National League. Bedford is renowned for producing strong and competitive teams and I am sure we will live up to that reputation.”

Kinnear is joined in the squad by two more new additions from local club Shefford and Sandy. Midfielder Cheryl Whalley and youngster Eli Priston will increase the competition for places in the first team squad and are both looking forward to playing a higher level of hockey this season and improving their games. Other new faces include Sarah Jane Darrington, who returns to the club after 2 seasons away travelling and Becky Childs who missed the whole of last season with a serious knee injury.

Bedford kick off their pre-season preparations on the 4th September when they host Oxford Hawks. Anyone interested in joining the club- can attend open trials also on that day between 11-1 at Bedford Hockey Centre.
