BHC is one of the largest clubs in the region and now has 7 ladies and men's sides as well as a thriving junior section and successful masters and mixed teams. With a 125-year history, our own double astro and recently renovated club house, the club continues to progress while keeping our family values and strong social side. The club is located close to junction 13 & 14 of the M1 and is near the likes of Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Northampton and Luton. With the men recently promoted, both sides will be playing National League hockey this coming season.
The position within the ladies section is to oversee two weekly training sessions and travel with the team on a Saturday to home and away fixtures. The head coach will be working alongside the Ladies 1st X1 manager and captain as well as other club personnel so good communication skills are vital.
BHC Ladies 1's is a talented and ambitious squad who are an established national league side with great potential for further development. After finishing eighth in the Conference East last season, we will be looking to gain promotion to Division 1 and become one of the top 30 sides in the country. We are looking for someone wants to be part of this exciting project with us and can fulfil the following personal specification.
. Delivers high intensity training sessions with skill development components. Able to give clear technical and tactical input to the team and players.
. Organised, dedicated, passionate and motivating.
. Demands high standards. Can demonstrate the ability to create a professional "high performance" team environment and culture.
. Can communicate effectively with the team with excellent interpersonal skills
. Plan and deliver high quality, intensive training sessions
. Attend home and away matches with the ladies 1st team squad
. Lead on the selection of the 1st team squad for matches (liaising with the captain and other personnel involved in club selection)
. Analyse performances and offer regular feedback to individuals and the squad
Qualifications and Skills
. Applicants should hold a minimum of Level 2 coaching qualification
. BHC is looking to fill the role with someone who has either played or coached hockey at a National League Level or equivalent standard and who demonstrates good technical and tactical knowledge. Applications from suitable player / coaches would be considered.
. First aid and Safeguarding certification (position subject to valid DBS certificate)
