Undefeated weekend for Bedford Ladies teams

It was a super Saturday for BHC ladies teams with 1 draw and 5 victories across the 6 matches. The ladies 2s lead the way winning 2-1 in their vital relegation showdown against Blueharts. Goals from Yvette Van Yperen and Cheryll Wilson and a fine second half team display insigated by MOTM Ellie Priston saw them home despite some tense final moments.

Down in Tunbridge Wells, the L1’s were well below par but a brace from Andrea Mason saw them pick up a draw point in a 2-2 draw however the drop points coupled with a win for West Herts saw them reach an unassailable 10 point grab in the table and gain promotion to the National League. We congratulate West Herts who were very deserved champions this season whilst BHC will be looking to cement second place in the final 3 matches against St Albans, Harleston Magpies and Maidstone.

Becky Burgoine and Kelly Drage helped the L3’s to another win in 5 counties prem as they notched up a 2-1 win against St Albans retaining their 4th place position whereas the L4’s won 2-0 with strikes from youngsters Alisha McLeod and Abbie Collard. The ladies 5’s were the big scorers this weekend as they emphatically dispatched Saffron Walden 6’s 7-0 including a first Bedford hatrick for MOTM Ellie Scott whilst last but not least the Ladies 6’s won 4-0.
Finally we all send our congratulations to Claire McEwan who celebrated her marriage to Alex Stathers … we wish them both every happiness for the start of the next chapter of their lives together.
