Draw against top of the league for the L2's, the 3's beat Shefford & Sandy thanks to an Alice Brady wondergoal and the 4s notch up 7 without reply!

It was a mixture of highs and lows amongst the ladies teams this weekend. The 1's came up short against a well organised St Albans side at Oaklands College going down 2-0 which saw the two teams swap league positions. Photo is Becca Budd, the Bedford MOTM on her 1st team debut.

There was better news at Chester Road as the L2s maintained their good form with a point against top of the league Saffron Walden. Bedford were within 3 minute of a league victory with Natalia Norford and Connie Mason on the score sheet but a late goal saw the final score 2-2. Betty Ingram's 3's had another great win, this time against promotion chasing Shefford and Sandy 1s. Bedford defended like trojans throughout with MOTM Steph Young saving two off the line. It was an exciting game to end game with Alice Brady, Sara Skene and Kelly Drage all testing the S+S keeper but at half time the deadlock was still to be broken. Enter Joy Leeson who had been held back with a cold, she received the ball and sent in a cracking ball from the right which found Alice Brady in the circle ... she turned and finished brilliantly into the corner to give the maroon army all three points. Well done to all the team for such a great effort.

The days stand out result was certainly in 5 counties Division 3 where the 4's turned their recent good performances into a goal fest. Leading the line was Chloe Pigram who struck at hatrick whilst other goals came from Alexis x2, Issy and Molly in a 7-0 demolition of Potters Bar. Unfortunately L5's went down by the odd goal away at Berkhampstead and Hemel with Fran Stedman picking up the DOTD accolades.

This week there will be a training game between the L1s and the Masters 035's team on Tuesday evening - 8:30pm push back ... all support welcome and don't forget to buy your tickets for the quiz night next Saturday down at the club. Buy from Paul or Becky Childs - or let your captain know you are looking to attend. Friends and family all welcome too
