Whilst playing rugby Sunday 21st Feb 2016 for the Bletchley Ladies RFC Gracie sustained a severe dislocated knee injury and was transferred to Oxford - John Radcliffe Hospital.

She underwent two surgeries to try and fix damaged arteries and nerves but unfortunately during her operation on the 1st Match, the doctors found that Gracie's leg muscles, nerves and blood vessels had deteriorated so much they had to make the difficult but life saving choice of amputating her leg above the knee.
