Dave Appleton joins Bedford in their push for national league from National Prem side Holcombe

Bedfords 2nd signing of the summer is a big one, seeing local lad Dave Appleton transfer from National Prem team Holcombe. He will come in as player & assistant coach to Simon Shorter for the 2015/16 season.

Dave Appleton brings with him a wealth of top level experience to an ever improving Bedford squad, playing for Loughborough students in the National Prem for multiple years. His dominating performances at the top level saw him catch the eye of the England Selectors, and subsequently representing England U21s in the European Cup & Junior World Cup. At Loughborough Dave also won the England indoor hockey league and went on to play in the European competition on 4 separate occasions, taking home bronze in Russia.

After leaving Loughborough, Dave moved to play National League at Southgate for 2 seasons & then finally was snapped up by the new hockey power house, Holcombe HC where he recent won promotion to the Premier league in the indoor & outdoor format of the game.

Dave is a fantastic signing for Bedford HC and is excited about the new challenge he faces next season in helping Simon & the squad in their push for National League status.
