A resurgence from the Men's 2s sees them claim 3 points.

Drawing a line in the sand after a disappointing week previously, it was vital for the Mens 2s to get their season back on track. Especially given how close and unpredictable the division has become this year.

A movie soundtrack and music from the 90s trivia quiz in the car ride down got some of the team mentally stimulated. A nice long warm up and a game of minceball got the rest of the squad fired up too. Simultaneously exposing debutant, Matt Dadd, to possibly his first ever experience of listening to Vengaboys - which has become something of a tradition to listen to in warm up it seems.

Bedford started the game quicker than Witham, punishing them with 1-0 lead in the first 5 minutes. Adam Priston stepping up to take the short corner and Tommy Constant deflecting it home. What typically has happened in previous weeks is, we get the early goal and then sit off, like it will be an easy game. But we all identified this at training and have worked hard not to let it happen again.

We kept the pressure up and we were rewarded with a second goal. This time Rob Chitty assisting Adam Priston who comfortably slotted the ball home (via a defender's foot).

Already a million miles apart from where we were this time last week. It was quality, composed hockey. Keep the simple hockey going. Lets just play our hockey. Let them argue with the umpires, not us. We did all of this.

Unfortunately, Witham converted a short corner that was a like for like copy of our first goal.

Bedford there after controlled the game. We played nice, flowing hockey with plenty of attacking play - we just need to improve our conversion of chances. Rob Lowin must have got bored and wanted to spice things up, so he got himself a green card. But even with 10 we were composed and comfortable. Neil also deciding he wanted to get a yellow card.

Adam Priston continuing his streak of assists (making that 10 for all fixtures, 8 in the league). A run across the top of the saw him take a shot on his reverse which was "going top corner". However, Steven Adams subsequently deflects the shot over the logging keeper and gets his 4th goal of the season.

an outstanding effort by all to rally back like that from the week before. The effort put in on Tuesday and Thursday definitely showed today. There were some areas to improve upon but plenty of positives to take away. A refreshing change to have someone running the sidelines. It meant less responsibility on the captain to both play and coach. Tony Dadd stepping up to run that.

MoM: Immy, fatanstic work rate in the CDM role (overlooking the feminine pirouette he did when a decision went against him)
DoD: Fisher (even though he wasn't even playing)
