Sevenoaks head to Chester Road for the final league game of 2014 ... All supporters very welcome with mince pies & mulled wine

Bedford Hockey Club ladies 1’s host fourth placed Sevenoaks tomorrow in their final Investec Hockey East conference game of the 2014. The Bedford squad this week is one player lighter with Kate Axford involved in a school match whilst Kelly Bingham is still out with an ankle injury.

Two disappointing results against Maidenhead and Horsham means that Bedford have slipped back to the bottom of the league table with Ipswich having picked up a point against Wimbledon however the result was a fairly good one for Bedford as it does keeps the team from SW17 within a few points and with the threat of relegation still looming. There is still a long way to go this season at both end of the table with 24 points still up for grabs.
Bedford’s 4-0 away defeat against Sevenoaks is widely accepted by the team as their season’s low point as it was a game where they allowed their opponents to dominant with Cathy Gilliat-Smith influential, scoring a hatrick . The maroons however have come a long way since that day and continue to make small improvements to their game at training as they strive to retain their national league status this season. Today’s game promises to be high intensity with Bedford opting very much for a nothing to lose approach. We invite all sponsors and supporters to join us for mince pies and mulled wine after the game 

Bedford Squad – Leanne Sargeant (GK), Rachel Jackson, Emma Pinny, SJ Darrington, Beth Noble, Katherine Winger, Becky Childs, Charlotte Holland, Claire Beattie, Verity Mason McLeod, Sherri Skene (Captain) , Yvette Van Yperen, Kate Costin and Andrea Mason.
