5 young teams travelled to Shefford and Sandy on Sunday 5th February

Bedford were able to take two under 8 and three under 10 teams away to the annual Shefford and Sandy tournament on Sunday 5th February - the numbers being a testament to how strong our junior section is right now.

The Under 8 As were unlucky not to progress further than the group stages in a high quality quick stix competition, finishing a very respectable 3rd in their group under the keen watch of their young coaches Perry and Catalina. U8B had a tricky start with many of the players being new to tournaments but finished strongly by scoring a great goal! Many thanks to coach Steph.

All three U10 teams showed great progress in their play as compared to the Bedford tournament back in November, highlighting the hard work that all of the players and coaches have put in over the last months. Bedford U10A (pictured) included many young players who only stepped up to the under 10 age group in September and they showed how well they have adapted the added challenges of U10s hockey (bigger teams, bigger pitches, scoring Ds - and goalkeepers!) by putting in a very solid performance, 1 win, 4 draws and only one defeat in the last game. This wasn't quite enough to get them into the semi finals but gave many positives to work on for the next tournament - well done! U10 B and C also played fantastically well against tough opposition, learned a lot and improved as teams with every game. Thanks to Kira, Rory, Keith, Cheryl and helpers.
