Bedford Hockey Club is lending its support to Soupfest 2018, a charity event which is running on Tuesday 27th November.

It’s a simple idea - on Tuesday 27th November at 11.30am, The SoupFest18 Pop-up Kitchen will open in Bedford’s Harpur Square, inviting members of the public to come and buy soup, prepared by the great and the good of the Bedford restaurant scene. There will be festive musical accompaniments from local choirs and bands, and an atmosphere of ‘goodwill to all men’ will prevail!

Members of BHC can support Soupfest in the following ways …
1. Volunteer to help sell soup on the day (official timeslots are 9am to 2pm; 12pm to 4pm; and 3pm to 7pm) Please wear BHC hoodies, jackets if you can help as its great PR for the club to have members taking part.
2. Pop along to the Harpur Square and purchase soup (or if you work close by, we can potentially bring soup to you for you to distribute amongst your team, business, workplace etc)
3. We will hopefully have any left-over soup down at the club for training available for club members to purchase before or after training. £3
4. Share the social posts from BHC about Soupfest with your friends and family ?
I am sure you will agree, it’s a hugely important cause especially at this time of the year so if you can help contact Kate Costin – katecostin@btinternet.com or the Soupfest team directly info@soupfest.co.uk.

“We were overwhelmed with the response to the inaugural Soupfest last year” said Emma Garrett. “It brought together the business community as well as the various homeless agencies in a real show of community strength and support. The amount of money we raised in our first year (£4,500) was phenomenal and gave us a target to smash this year! We work closely with the Bedford Homeless Partnership to ensure all funds are distributed appropriately”
