BHC under 12s maintain a very good run of form, coming 1st in the LBHC tournament

Bedford U12 travelled to Leighton Buzzard with two teams

Our first match was against Aylesbury U12. It was a close game, with chances for both teams, but no score. Thomas played in goal and made some great saves.

The second match was against Aylesbury U14. Apart from being a foot taller that everyone, they were also more confident on the ball. We defended hard, but lost 0-3.

Our third match was against Bedford U14 (with a couple of U12 players making up the numbers). We took the lead, with a goal from Joshua, but the U14 team came back to beat us 1-2. A really good performance from the team.

Our last round robin match was against Luton U12. Lilly wanted to follow in her sister's footsteps and debuted goal. We played an attacking formation, and put a lot of pressure on Luton. Ellie scored for Bedford to take the lead, but Luton managed to equalise with minutes to go. A draw was enough for us to go through in second place.

The semi final was against Leighton Buzzard. Again our attacking formation with three across the middle allowed as to put a lot of pressure on Leighton Buzzard. Joshua broke down the right to score an individual goal, with Ellie, Joshua and Thomas all working really hard in midfield to support the attack and getting back to defend. Olivia stepped in to play goalie, and kept a clean sheet during open play. She did have to face a penalty flick which was taken really well. This levelled the score, so we had to push forward again. Good work down the right from Joshua, and the crossed to the middle of the circle for Ellie to score. A 2-1 victory.

The final was against Aylesbury U12, and for a second time, the match ended in a 0-0 draw. Again the midfield worked hard, with Olivia attacking down the right on several occasions. Matthew played brilliantly at the back, reading the play, stopping any attacks, and clearing the ball back up to the midfield. Five minutes golden goal was played, but still neither team could score. So the match ended in penalty runs. Joshua stepped up first and scored. Then Aylesbury scored their first goal. Next was Olivia, who also put the ball in the net. Aylesbury's second attempt was saved by Thomas in goal, who read the direction well, and cleared the ball to the side line. A nervous Ellie stepped up to take our last run, and scored a great goal to take 1st place!

Well done to everyone who played in the team: Matthew, Bo, Lilly, Cerys, Thomas, Joshua, Olivia and Ellie. And thanks to those that volunteered as goal keepers (Thomas, Olivia and Lilly).
