After training within the Junior hockey club, players will transition into The Development Centre — an opportunity for U14, U16 and U18 players from clubs across the region to train in their age groups on a Monday evening. With Bedfordshire being a small county, pooling the expertise of staff from several clubs allows us to provide elite coaching and competitive age-group matches. We’re proud to see our juniors develop their skills, gain match experience, and grow in confidence at BDC. Girls and boys will train in separate groups on alternating weeks, and goalkeepers will continue to receive specialist coaching sessions alongside match play with their peers.

We provide fortnightly training to all age groups which takes place at Bedford Sports and Hockey Centre on a Monday evening and alternates weekly between girls and boys, commencing 7:00pm until 8:30pm
BDC includes junior players affiliated to clubs across Bedfordshire. The vision is to give everyone the chance to build confidence in 11-a-side hockey with their peers, which they can take back to their senior club sides, thereby making all of the clubs stronger.
As the season progresses, we will be having specific county training where the players selected for county will train to prepare for the tournaments. There will be a focus on knowledge development also including nutrition, fitness and performance.
