Ladies 6s vs Harpenden 3

Ladies 6 headed into a must win game against Harpenden where the difference between 6th and 11th position was only 2 points. Bedford started strong with Fadzie opening the scoring after only 2mins with a drive into the D and strike to the back post. 1-0 Bedford. Plenty more play in the Harpenden D and when Harpenden did break there were stopped by a strong midfield. On 10 mins Charlotte G picked up the ball on the edge of the D and drove to the base line only to shoot and find the smallest of gaps between the goalie and the post making it 2-0. Play remained much of the same in the 1st half with Bedford defence breaking up any attack from the Harpenden forwards. 

Into the 2nd half and Bedford were awarded 2 quick short corners unfortunately they were unable to find the back of the net, however kept the pressure on the Harpenden defence and was awarded there 3rd goal from Charlotte G on about 50 mins. Harpenden were throwing everything at it and we're awarded a couple of short corners but with Heidi running 1 and shutting any shot down they were unable to find the back of the goal. With only 3 mins to go Bedford remained on the attack and we're awarded there 4th goal of the game when both Dani and Nicola went for the same ball but with Danis stick making the contact put the ball past the keeper. 

A brilliant game by the whole team in a game where the scoreline could have been so much more. The POTM was a 5 way tie which shows what a great team performance this was - Charlotte G, Manpriya, Heidi, Mia and Fadzie.
