Match Report: Bedford 3–0 Potters Bar
Date: A sunny Saturday afternoon
Location: Bedford
Bedford hosted Potters Bar in a lively clash that saw the home side cruise to a commanding 3–0 victory on what can only be described as a bouncy battlefield. With the sun shining and spirits high, the Bedford squad made sure the only thing bouncing out of control was the opposition.
Many (but not all) of Bedford Vets had heeded the captain’s advice of improving and maintaining match fitness by playing 4 games midweek as it takes this level of commitment to maintain a place in the match day squad.
Captain Dan led by example, netting a brace with clinical finishes that left Potters Bar reeling. Adding to the tally was Gary, who slotted home the second with style—though his moment of glory didn’t end there. Moments later, he treated the crowd to an unexpected encore: a full-body spasm on the floor that defied logic, physics, and basic coordination. Interpretive dance? Cramp? We'll never know—but it was unforgettable.
At the back, Chris Townson was a fortress. Strong in the tackle and built like a Roman statue, he was everywhere—clearing balls, making tackles, and flexing his way to a well-deserved Man of the Match award.
3-0 and another 3 points well played everyone.
