The Men's 5XI went away to Letchworth for a late 4.45 push back and began with a strong start to the game. James Logan going close to finding the top corner with a well struck effort in the opening minutes and some good saves from usual midfielder Tony Sawyer in goal. Unfortunately, they went in at half time 2-0 down due to to an unfortunate penalty flick and a well taken penalty corner.
The second half saw a different team take to the pitch with seriously impressive displays from Elliot Potter and James Pagliaro. Two goals from Elliot and one for Keith Sohl flipped the game on it's head. Elliot danced through their defenders on multiple occasions, proving a thorn in their sides all game and helping him to take the player of the match award.
Minutes after taking the lead a counter attack led to Letchworth bringing the game back to all square at 3-3. The team rallied however, with James Pagliaro breaking through the midfield to run from the half way line before dispatching a controlled effort beyond the keeper to restore the lead.
The game ended with back to back penalty corners, the second falling perfectly to Pagliaro to drive into the bottom right hand corner of the goal to cap off an enthralling match bringing the final score to 5-3 to Bedford.
